The West Jefferson Community Association held its 57th Annual Senior Citizens Christmas Party on Dec. 9 at West Jefferson High School. Approximately 110 seniors and guests attended while another 60 seniors opted for a drive-through dinner.
With help from Elvis, Santa calls out names of guests as he hands out goodie bags and door prizes. The party, complete with dinner, entertainment and giveaways, is free to local senior citizens.A crowd of about 110 senior citizens attended the annual Christmas party sponsored by the West Jefferson Community Association.Dressed with Christmas spirit, Dr. Vaughn Darding and his wife, Jean, wait for their turkey dinner with all the trimmings. Each guest at the party also received a goodie bag and a door prize donated by businesses and residents of West Jefferson and Jefferson Township.The West Jefferson High School jazz band plays Christmas music during dinner. As an added attraction this year, members of the school choir sang along with the band.
