It all adds up for these mathletes

Fifth- through eighth-grade students from the Jefferson, Jonathan Alder and Madison-Plains local school districts competed in the Madison County Math Contest on April 29 at Tolles Career and Technical Center in Plain City. The competitors were given 60 minutes to complete a 20-question test. The top scorers in each grade level earned awards. The Madison County Principals Association sponsored the annual contest.

Top fifth-grade placers in the County Math Contest include: (from left) first-place tie, Ashlyn Gall and Addison Ranly; second place, Chloe Wilson; third-place tie, Carson Gordon and Isla Beatty. All of the students are from Canaan Middle School.
Top sixth-grade placers in the County Math Contest include: (front) first place, Mitchell Peters of West Jefferson Middle School; (second row, from left) second-place tie, Clara Funk, Anna Engle and Greg Nussbaum, all of Canaan Middle School, and Santino Carnevale of West Jefferson Middle School; (back row) third-place tie, Kiana Gabler of Madison-Plains Intermediate and Wyatt Keyt and Nick Fitzpatrick, both of West Jefferson Middle School.
