The Madison County Math Bee took place on April 18 at Tolles Career and Technical Center in Plain City.

The competition featured 75 competitors in grades 5-8 from the Jonathan Alder, London, Madison-Plains, and West Jefferson school districts.

Students competed by grade level on a written test of 20 questions with one tie-breaker question for first place. Awards were given for first, second, and third places. Students who won first place also receive a $25 award.

Fifth grade
First: Lincoln Powell of London Elementary School;

Second place (three-way tie): Kyla Craig of Madison-Plains Intermediate, Dominic Keller of Norwood Elementary (West Jefferson), and Alex Boyd of Canaan Middle School;

Third (three-way tie): Blake Smith of Madison-Plains Intermediate, Luke Beachy of Canaan Middle School (Jonathan Alder), and Yuina Kawamoto of London Middle School.

Top finishers in the sixth-grade category of the Madison County Math Bee are: (from left) Nate McCain, Canaan Middle School; Ryan Nicol, Canaan Middle School; Layton Hastings, London Middle School; Zoey Robison, Madison-Plains Intermediate; and Peyton Parker, Madison-Plains Intermediate.
