For months, Madison Health has teased the date “01.18.19” on billboards and in social media posts and print advertising.
The day has finally come. At 3 p.m. Jan. 18, 2019, the hospital will hold a grand opening ceremony to reveal its new, 26,000 square-foot expansion and renovation.
The $25 million project includes a new cancer center, emergency department and medical specialist offices, as well as a newly renovated birthing center. A new concourse connects the Park Avenue Medical Building to the main hospital. Heating, cooling and mechanical upgrades also were completed.
The grand opening ceremony will take place at the new main entrance facing Park Avenue and include remarks from Madison Health leadership, hospital board members and local dignitaries.

Special guest Jym Ganahl will emcee the event. Ganahl is a meteorologist with WSYX-TV ABC 6 and WTTE-TV FOX 28 in Columbus. He has more than 52 years of forecasting experience and can be seen doing weather primarily for ABC 6 News at noon. In addition to his passion for weather, Ganahl is a United States Army veteran and an inductee into the Ohio Associated Press Broadcasting Hall of Fame.
Guided tours and refreshments will follow the ceremony until 6 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
Madison Health is located at 210 N. Main St., London.
