Hilltop Library Branch will extend hours as a cooling center

Columbus Metropolitan Library (CML) offers relief for central Ohioans affected by the intense heat this week.

All 23 air conditioned library locations are open to all and provide comfortable seating, public computers with Internet access, free WiFi and a collection of great books and magazines. Customers can also sign up for Summer Reading Challenge and take part in any of the hundreds of programs and events taking place all summer long.

In anticipation of high temperatures this week, CML is extending Friday and Saturday hours at its Main Library, Barnett, Hilltop, and Northern Lights branches. Typically these locations close at 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, however they will remain open until 8 p.m. on June 21 and 22. These four locations will also remain open as cooling centers from 12 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19 when the CML system will be closed in observance of the Juneteenth holiday. Library services will not be available.

CML will also offer free parking in Main Library’s garage this week.
