Hilltop Bean Dinner June 28

The Historic Hilltop Bean Dinner is Saturday, June 28. Many hilltop businesses will be in the big tent, along with “Guess the Beans” at the Hilltop Business Association booth. Continuous musical entertainment will be on the stage with Dick Fagan serving as Master of Ceremonies. Also included in the day will be several non-profit groups  with tables, art and craft vendors around the pond, and games and prizes in the children’s area. There will be much to eat, from beans and cornbread, to french fried peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Anyone wishing to help out can sign up for a two-hour volunteer spot by calling Karen at 306-5575.

Main stage schedule of events

Featuring MC Dick Fagan

10 a.m. – Opening ceremonies

10:15 a.m. – Announcements

10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. – Vanishing Breed

12:45-2:45 p.m. – Redition band

2:50 p.m. – Announcement of winners of GHALA art exhibit

3-5 p.m. – Firebirds band

Back this year – The Hilltop Historical Society will host a walk to Camp Chase!

Cars in the Park

Cars in the Park will also take place in conjunction with the Bean Dinner. Registration is from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. and judging will be from 1-3 p.m. Awards will be announced at 4 p.m. and trophies will be given to the top 50 entrants. All makes and models are welcome, including motorcycles.

FOWP at the Bean Dinner

When attending the Bean Dinner on June, stop by the Friends of Westgate Park table where Kristi Krissinger, from Friends of Scioto River, will be available to answers questions and comments regarding the proposed Rain Garden in Westgate Park.  Also, local artist Curtis Goldstein will be appearing from 12-1 at the GHALA (a partner group of FOWP) tent to discuss the design of the Camp Chase Mural that will be painted on the racquetball court wall closest to the parking lot. He will also have samples of his artwork set up to view.   FOWP will have membership information available and will be able to answer your questions or comments about the park!
