Troopers from the West Jefferson Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol are investigating a single vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 7:53 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 30.

The crash occurred on Plain City Georgesville Road south of Amity Pike in Canaan Township, Madison County. A Grey 2018 Harley Davidson Street Glide was traveling southbound on Plain City Georgesville Road, driven by 51-year-old Russell T. Clark of Plain City.

Preliminary investigation indicates that Clark took evasive action to avoid deer in the roadway. Clark lost control and was thrown from the motorcycle. The motorcycle continued off the right side of the roadway coming to rest in the ditch. Clark was transported to Grant Hospital in Columbus by Pleasant Valley Medics, where he later died due to his injuries.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by Pleasant Valley Fire & EMS and V’s Towing.
