On May 20, the Highland Youth Garden on the westside hosted a Spring Fest for the community. Residents were invited to learn about the garden and see what it has to offer. According to Shelly Casto, the executive director of the youth garden, they will host a Summer Fest from 4 to 7 p.m. on July 14 and a Fall Fest from 4 to 7 p.m. on Oct. 13. The garden is located at 67 S. Highland Ave. in Columbus. Here, 8-year-old Amon’ee Mitchell, her aunt Mya Mitchell, and 7-year-old Sania Douglas tour the youth garden. Douglas is part of the garden club. For more information on the garden, visit www.highlandyouthgarden.org.

The James Mobile Education Kitchen was on hand with healthy plant-based food options. Madi Skansi, Jim Warner, and Uma Kumar with the James Cancer Center, operate the mobile food truck. The truck visits sites all over the state of Ohio, teaching patrons the importance of a healthy diet. For more information on the mobile kitchen, visit cancer.osu.edu.
