The Hidden Talent Soccer Team, based out of west Columbus, won an international outdoor soccer tournament in Louisville Ky on July 2. Hidden Talent is the competitive soccer arm of non-profit organization Neighborhood Athletics, which provides educational and athletic opportunities to kids in the Hilltop and south Franklinton area. Hidden Talent beat teams from Maine, Kentucky, New York, and Omaha to win the championship. Players and staff dedicated the win to Issa Jeylani, a soccer player who tragically lost his life to gun violence in July 2022. Issa was a teammate who helped the team win the championship last year. Winning this tournament in his honor this year means everything to his teammates, staff, and entire westside Columbus soccer community.
