Armory Activities
The Armory at 15 E. Second St. in London offers a full slate of activities for youths and adults. Call 740-852-1595.
• Joanie’s Ballet and Tap Class—adults and children, Wednesdays and Fridays, 4 to 8:30 p.m. Class times to be assigned at registration.
• Self Defense—Thursdays, 5:30 p.m. for 4-8 year-olds, 6:30 for 9-14 year-olds, and 7:340 for 15-year-olds through adults. Tuesdays, 6 to 7 p.m. for adults.
• Men’s Church Basketball League—Saturdays, 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Starts Jan. 12.

Blood Drives
The American Red Cross has scheduled the following blood drives:
• Noon to 6 p.m. Jan. 28 at Hurt-Battelle Memorial Library in West Jefferson. Call 1-800-GIVELIFE to register. Walk-ins are welcome.
• 1 to 7 p.m. Feb. 13 at Mount Sterling Community Center. Call Kathy Beekman at 740-845-9939 to make an appointment. If you gave on or before Dec. 19, you are eligible to donate again.
Darby Creek Metro Park
Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park is located at 1775 Darby Creek Dr. in Galloway, four miles off Route 40 just east of West Jefferson. For more information about the park or its programs, call 614-895-6365.
• Baby Bear Full Moon Hike, Jan. 22 at 6 p.m. Join in for a four-mile moonlit hike through the winter woods. Meet at the Naturalist Office.
•Preschoolers: Bear Necessities, Jan. 25 at 11 a.m. or 1 p.m. – Bring your teddy bears and learn about these furry mammals through storytelling, songs and a craft. Meet at Cedar Ridge Lodge.
• Family Special: Movie Night, Jan. 26 at 7 p.m. Come to the lodge for popcorn and a nature movie to chase away the winter blues. Meet at Cedar Ridge Lodge.
• Fireside Stories, Jan. 27 at 7 p.m. Enjoy a hot beverage and a folk story as you gather around the fireplace. Meet at Cedar Ridge Lodge.
Diabetes Education Classes
The Madison County Diabetes Associ-ation, in conjunction with Bayer Health-Care, will sponsor diabetic education classes covering nutrition, carbohydrate counting, label reading and exercise:

• March 4 at 6 p.m.—Harley Room, Madison County Hospital, 210 N. Main St., London
• March 11 at 6 p.m.—dining room, Arbors West. 375 W. Main St., West Jefferson
• March 13 at 6 p.m., conference room, Mount Sterling Community Center, 164 E. Main St., Mount Sterling.

Girls’ Youth Basketball Tourney
The London Parks and Recreation Department will host a fourth-, fifth- and sixth-grade girls’ basketball tournament in London. The tournament will take place on March 8-9. Vision Clinic
On Feb. 7, the Madison County/London City Health Department in conjunction with the Ohio Department of Health will hold a free vision clinic for people up to age 21 who do not have vision coverage. If you suspect your child is having difficulty or just needs a routine exam, call to schedule an appointment, 740-852-3065. The health department is located at 306 Lafayette Street in London.
Weight Loss Support Groups
“Let’s Talk, New Beginnings” are weight loss support groups sponsored by the Madison County Diabetes Association. The groups are open to all adults free of charge. You do not have to be diabetic to attend.
The meetings are held on: Mondays at 6 p.m. at Arbors West in West Jefferson; Wednesdays at 2 p.m. at Madison County Senior Center, London; and Thursdays at 10:15 a.m. at Plain City Public Library.
