The Ohio State University Extension and Madison County Farm Bureau are co-sponsoring this year’s Harvest Party. The event will be held Sept. 6 at Choctaw Lake Lodge in London. The evening will begin at 6 p.m. and includes dinner catered by the Red Brick Tavern.

All of the net proceeds will go to support Extension programming in the county and Madison County Farm Bureau scholarships to help students achieve their education goals.

Entertainment for the evening will be comedian Drew Hastings of Hillsboro. A veteran comedian and storyteller for more than 25 years, Hastings is known as an edgy, intelligent performer in venues across America.

His commanding onstage presence puts forth material that is both hilarious and self-deprecating, including observations of the human condition and the declining state of American society. Hastings’ comedy specials, late-night television appearances, and his status as an all-time favorite on the syndicated Bob & Tom radio show have given him a wide following.

Oddly enough, Hastings has gained an entirely new audience with farmers and the agriculture community since he recently took up farming and now also does numerous family-friendly shows annually.

The harvest party will be a fun, casual evening that brings the agricultural community together for a great cause. All the money raised throughout the evening will stay local, helping where it is needed most.

Tickets online are $20, which includes dinner and entertainment. A cash bar will be open during the event. Tickets are available for purchase at the Extension Office, 217 Elm St, London, or purchase tickets at www.madisonharvestparty.eventbrite.com.
