Hamilton Local School District already had a professional development day scheduled March 13 with no school scheduled for students.
Since the governor’s announcement came so late in the school day, the district will allow students to visit school buildings during normal business hours Friday to pick up anything they may need from their lockers during the upcoming three-week break.
The district is not asking students to report to school on March 16 either. Students will be out of school from March 16 and not return until April 6.
Resources will be available online on Monday that will let students stay engaged with various education websites and resources while they are out of school.
The faculty is putting together online resources and instructional materials for students to access beginning March 30. These resources will be available for parents and students to utilize to continue the educational process while we are on this state-mandated break.
All district activities have been suspended until further notice.
This is a fluid situation that can change at a moment’s notice, and the district will provide updates as any new news becomes available.
District officials know this is a challenging time for everyone as everyone works to adapt to the governor’s and the Ohio Department of Health’s orders and recommendations.
To review, students will not report back to Hamilton Local Schools until April 6 at the earliest. Visit hamilton-local.k12.oh.us for information.
