The city of Groveport will hold trick or treat on Oct. 31 from 5:30–7 p.m. Groveport Town Hall, 648 Main St., will serve hot dogs, popcorn and drink courtesy of the Groveport Police Department, Madison Township Fire Department and Groveport Town Hall. A block party will be held on Front Street between Elm Street and Main Street starting at 7 p.m.
“Front Street will be blocked off between Elm and Main streets,” said Groveport City Administrator Marsha Hall. “This will prevent congestion and keep traffic flowing on Main Street while also keeping people at the block party safe.”
Groveport Police Chief Ralph Portier said Front Street residents in the area, many of whom traditionally decorate their yards for Halloween each year, are agreeable to having the block party held on their street.
The block party, sponsored by the Groveport Lions Club, will include a costume contest, the Groveport Madison High School Marching Band, the Cruiserettes, cider, and donuts.
