Want to be your own boss?

The village of Groveport will once again offer the eight week small business/microenterprise training program "How to Grow Your Own Business" starting Sept. 16 from 6:30-9:30 p.m. in the Ohio-Erie Room at the Groveport Recreation Center, 7370 Groveport Road.

The program is free to village residents and costs $175, plus materials, for non-residents. Applications for the program are available at: the Groveport Municipal Building, 655 Blacklick St.; and Go Groveport!, 607 Main St. Deadline for registration is Aug. 29.

Groveport has offered the program since 2002.

"Since that time," said Groveport Economic Development Director Jeff Green, "the program has graduate approximately 75 individuals, including the owners of our two local photography studios."

The objectives of the program are to:

•Introduce sound business practices to local entrepreneurs.

•Assist local business community through education, networking, and technical assistance.

•Guide participants through activities that result in a comprehensive business plan.

•Create a network for local entrepreneurs.

Program sessions include: The World of Business; Defining Your Dream; Financing Your Dream; Pricing Your Products and Services; Finding, Researching, and Serving Your Customers; Managing Your Cash Flow; Managing Your Records; and Understanding Financials.
