Groveport’s A Heritage Holiday

The Groveport Madison Area Community Choir sang a selection of Christmas carols prior to Santa Claus lighting the city of Groveport’s Christmas tree during the city’s A Heritage Holiday festivities in Heritage Park on Dec. 4.
Groveport Mayor Lance Westcamp presented Santa Claus with the key to the city. Santa and the mayor arrived at the event on a Madison Township fire truck. A Heritage Holiday also featured music by Wade & Darr as well as by Mora & Dalton. There were also hayrides, free cookies, kids crafts, face painting, and food trucks.
Santa visited with children in the log house and, after hearing all of their Christmas wishes, he went outside into the park and flipped the switch to light the city’s Christmas tree.
Groveport residents Shannon and Tim Bowen were two of many who enjoyed the iceless skating rink that was set up in Heritage Park as part of the event.
Larry Dowler and his trusty John Deere tractor provided hayrides around scenic Palm Pond in Heritage Park.
Ice carvings by Rock on Ice adorned Heritage Park during A Heritage Holiday.
“A Merry Christmas to all!” said Santa Claus.
