The city of Groveport contracted with Columbus Asphalt Paving Company for its 2015 street maintenance program.
Work includes pavement repairs and resurfacing on the following streets: College Street from Main Street north to near the railroad crossing; Walnut Street from Main Street north to Grove Street; Cherry Street from Lesleh Avenue to West Street; and Canal Street from Lesleh Avenue to West Street. Some curb repairs and curb ramp repairs will occur in these areas where curbs exist. Work began in early June and will extend to the week of July 7. During work times, traffic flow may be disrupted and streetside parking will be temporarily discontinued. Other work includes:
•Pavement milling and resurfacing at the Groveport police station parking area, Blacklick Park parking area and KidSpace parking area. During the paving improvement, parking use will be temporarily discontinued. Work is anticipated to begin the week of July 6 and extend to July 17.
•The completion of a sidewalk extension on College Street to the Wirt Road intersection, a new asphalt shared use path along the north side of Wirt Road from College Street to near the log house, and on the south side of Wirt Road near the log house construction of a new concrete sidewalk to the Heritage Park entrance. Work is anticipated to begin the week of July 6 and extend to July 17.
•Restriping of Greenpointe Drive South and Opus Drive.
•Crack sealing on various streets. Location and dates are to be determined.
During work times, some streetside parking will be disrupted. Resident notices will be posted in work areas in advance. While weather may affect the schedule, all work is expected to be completed by mid-September. For information call the city engineer at 836-5301.
