Grove City police to host active shooter training

The Grove City Division of Police is offering Active Shooter Response Training from 9 a.m. to noon, Sept. 24 at Harrison College, 3880 Jackpot Road. This free training is open to the public. Registration is required.

Learn a variety of safety topics and basic survival skills. The presentation combines many facets of response to a hostile encounter, whether at work, school, church, shopping or any public location.

Participants must be age 16 or older by Sept. 20, 2016 (all under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian). A criminal record check is processed on each applicant; no one with an active warrant for arrest or a history of violent crimes is permitted. No weapons are permitted inside the training area. Class size is limited.

Participants can register by phone at 614-277-3050 or register in person at the Grove City Parks and Recreation office at the Kingston Center, 3226 Kingston Ave., Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The registration deadline is Sept. 22 at noon.
