Richard Butsko, the city of Grove City’s current chief of police, recently announced his retirement after 29 years of service with the Grove City Division of Police. His final day in leadership with the city is March 5.

“Rick has been a tremendous asset to the community and our incredible division of police team,” said Grove City Mayor Richard L. “Ike” Stage. “We are truly appreciative of his nearly three decades of service and we wish him well.”

Stage announced the appointment of Grove City Safety Director Kevin Teaford as interim police chief, effective March 6.

Teaford’s law enforcement experience spans more than 35 years with the Ohio State Highway Patrol and prior to joining Grove City he served as lieutenant colonel and assistant superintendent, responsible for all Ohio highway patrol operations.

Teaford will continue serving as safety director in addition to interim chief of police until a permanent chief is appointed.
