Mayor Richard “Ike” Stage announced the appointment of Eric Scott as the chief of the Grove City Division of Police, effective Monday, April 17.

Scott, a long-time Grove City resident, brings more than 20 years of experience and success with the division.

“We are truly pleased to welcome Lt. Scott to his new position as chief of our extremely dedicated and organized team of law enforcement professionals,” said Stage.
Scott rose through the ranks working various patrol, investigative and administrative assignments. He received promotions to sergeant in 2012, lieutenant in 2018 and was named Officer of the Year in 2000 and 2009.

“I am grateful and appreciative of Mayor Stage’s confidence in me to lead the passionate women and men I work with daily,” said Scott. “I am so fortunate our division is truly a family of dedicated professionals.”

Scott will replace former Chief Richard Fambro, who recently announced acceptance as director of protective services for central Ohio at OhioHealth.

“Mayor Stage, administration, division of police staff and residents of Grove City have been overwhelmingly welcoming, making the decision to move quite difficult,” said Fambro. “I am truly pleased and confident the division will be in extremely competent hands when Scott takes over as chief. I am forever indebted to this community.”
