Two sixth graders at Grove City Christian School once again take the stage for the 2023 production of BalletMet’s “The Nutcracker,” along side BalletMet’s professional dancers and fellow students of the BalletMet Academy in downtown Columbus.

Clara Guardia-Perez has followed in her older sister, Lucia’s, footsteps and will play one of the young Clara’s in six performances. Brynleigh Dague will reprise her role as a Transformational Mouse, as well as Duel Mouse #2 in 13 performances.

BalletMet’s production of “The Nutcracker” has enchanted audiences since 1978. An imaginative tale where Clara and her Nutcracker Prince take a magical journey with unforgettable characters and costumes with choreography by Gerard Charles, and music from the Columbus Symphony.

“The Nutcracker” is a full-length ballet that runs approximately 1 hour 50 minutes. Performances run through Dec. 23 at the Ohio Theatre, 39 E. State St. There is also a shorter performance known as “My First Nutcracker” that runs Dec. 20 at 11 a.m. and is a shorter performance for young children.
