Grove City High School senior Isaac Carter was one of three from the school to make it to this year’s OHSAA 86th Annual Boys Wrestling State Tournament held March 10-12 at the Jerome Schottenstein Center. He is shown here in a mitch with St. Ignatius senior Eugene Gibbons. The two faced off in the second round of the Division I 215 pound class of the tournament. Carter came out on top 6-3 and came away with a season record of 48-11.
Grove City senior Andrew Palmer earned a trip to this year’s state tournament by qualifying in the top four in the district. Palmer qualified in the #2 spot and is shown here facing off in the Division I 165 pound class against senior Jack Marconi of Avon Lake who came out on top 12-4. Palmer finished the season with a 41-12 record.
Wrestling against the best in the state sometimes requires a little bit of help. In this case Grove City senior Slade Waller needed stop the cut under his eye from bleeding before he could continue with his second match of the day on his way to the Division I 132 pound sixth place honors at the OHSAA 86th Annual Boys Wrestling State Tournament.
