On Aug. 24, the 17th Annual Plain City Classic Car Cruise-In will fill the streets of Plain City with collector cars, trucks and motorcycles. Uptown Plain City Organization (UPCO) hosts the event. Chapman Ford is the primary sponsor.

From 1 to 8 p.m., vintage vehicles will line Main and Chillicothe streets. Bring your classic car, truck or motorcycle or just stop by to see classics like a 1957 Thunderbird, a 1936 Chevy pickup or any of the other 200 registered vehicles.

DJ Noisy Neighbors will spin classic tunes, and local band, The Groove, will perform from 4 to 7 p.m. Food trucks will be available the entire show, and the beer and wine garden will supply adult beverages. Food vendors include Skyward Grill, Barley 31, Comfort, Pitabilities, Coffee Connections, and Miller’s Olde Fashioned Ice Cream. Awards will be presented at 7 p.m. and include Top 40, Entrants’ Choice, UPCO Choice, People’s Choice and Best of Show.

Goody bags will be distributed to the first 100 entries; the first 150 receive dash plaques. Returning are the 50/50 raffle and prize raffles. Chapman Ford always brings items to raffle off, like televisions and children’s bicycles.

All vehicles are welcome. Registration runs from 2 to 5 p.m. the day of the show with a fee of $13. To save a few bucks, register in advance for $10. Online registration can be found at www.uptownplaincity.com/classic-car-cruise-in/ and ends Aug. 23 at 11:59 p.m. Registration forms also can be printed and mailed in advance or completed and brought to the registration desk the day of the event before 5 p.m. All mailed entries must be postmarked by Aug. 20.

There is no fee for spectators. All visitors, registrants and spectators are eligible to enter the raffle drawings. The drawings will be complete by 7 p.m.

Proceeds from the event go back into the community in the form of two grants (Business Improvement Grant and Façade Improvement Grant) and four community events (Plain City Run/Walk, Plain City Farmers Market, Plain City Classic Car Cruise-In and Christmas Under the Clock).

This year’s cruise-in sponsors are Chapman Ford, Foust Plumbing & Heating, Der Dutchman Restaurant, Main Street Treasures, Plain City Druggist, Security National Bank, Keller-Williams Realty-The Barbara George Team, and the Golf Car Co.
