Garden Tour blooms

The Groveport Garden Tour held its annual Garden Tour on June 23 that featured nine sites that included residential gardens as well as the herb garden and community garden at the log house in Groveport’s Heritage Park. Many of the sites hosted up to 55 visitors. Joe Stewart opens his .29 acre arboretum (pictured here) to guests during the tour. Stewart’s land is named Souther Billa Arboretum and is home to over 175 dwarf conifers. Each item is labeled and is an educational oasis. Stewart also opens his garden in the fall to visitors and boasts a spectacular Christmas light display that neighbors look forward to each year. Also pictured is Marylee Bendig as she welcomes guests to her home to view her sanctuary of a variety of low maintenance plants. Her property also consists of a pond and wooded area. The Groveport Garden Club is always looking for active gardeners to help it grow. For meeting and activity information contact groveportgardenclub@gmail.com or find them on Facebook.
