The Miami Valley Steam Threshers Association held their annual show and reunion July 15-18 at Pastime Park in Plain City.
Each year, the show includes several milling demonstrations, including the sawmill, where crews milled cut trees into usable lumber with the help of a huge steam engine and a very long belt drive.Steam engines big (like this one) and small were on display, providing a glimpse into how machinery was powered in the early 1900s.An antique rock crusher was among the new attractions at this year’s Steam Threshers Show. Event organizers hauled in three tons of limestone to feed the machine. The park was filled with farm equipment from many eras, along with vendors selling tools, toys, and tasty treats.
