The Madison County Fair Board hired a new ride company for the 2023 fair: Lisko Family Midway Amusements out of northeast Ohio.
“They are a really good quality company,” said Paul Gross, fair board president.
Last year, the fair board had to scramble after the ride company they used in 2021 went out of business. After calling dozens of other companies around the Midwest, they ended up booking a smaller outfit that provided only rides for young children.
This year, fairgoers can expect a mix of large and small rides. Lisko is bringing a variety of rides to the fairgrounds, half of which are geared toward teens and adults and half geared toward children.
The rides will be available Tuesday through Saturday of fair week, with Wednesday set aside as Kids’ Day. Lisko has another commitment the first three days of the fair.
The ride schedule is as follows:
Tuesday, July 11 – 4-11 p.m.
Wednesday, July 12 – 1-11 p.m. A special $10 kids’ ride bracelet will be available for unlimited rides between 1 and 4 p.m. Ride tickets return to regular price after 4 p.m. The rides will be shut down from 4 to 5 p.m. for a mandatory break.
Thursday, July 13 – 4-11 p.m.
Friday, July 14 – 4-11 p.m.
Saturday, July 15 – 1-11 p.m.
Lisko Family Midway Amusements has been family-owned and operated since 1961. Tim Lisko’s father founded the business, and now Tim, one of his sons, and his nephews run the operation. Tim is a certified ride inspector in Ohio and Pennsylvania and maintains a daily inspection program for his rides.
The company provides rides for fairs, festivals, and events throughout Ohio. They also travel to events in Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Florida.
