After seven years of service, Crystal Cook stepped down from the position of fiscal officer for the Franklin Township Board of Trustees.

"I’ve worked with some wonderful people, but it’s time to move on," said Cook, whose term was set to officially end on March 31. She declined to run for the position again in the November 2007 election.

As a final thanks, township trustees passed a resolution honoring Cook for her years of township service, describing her term as, "Replete with numerous accomplishments and items of achievement, guidance, and support to the board of trustees."

Cook took office in March of 2001.

Succeeding Cook as fiscal officer is Kathryn Wihl, who ran for the position as write-in candidate on the November 2007  general election ballot.

A 35-year resident of Franklin Township, Wihl looks forward to the experience of working for the township and learning more about how it works.

"I thought it was time to check in on what’s going on and to try to help where I can."

Wihl was sworn in to office at the Franklin Township trustee meeting on March 20.

Also present at the meeting was former fiscal officer Barb Seeger who held the position from 1984-2001, before Cook took office.
