
Donna Drury, who served on Groveport City Council for 14 years before leaving council in 2015, passed away on Dec. 23 after an illness. She was 73.
In a Facebook message, her son, Joe, said of Drury, “She did not know a stranger and loved everyone the same.”
Groveport Mayor Lance Westcamp said, “Donna was so valuable to this community. She will be missed.”
Groveport City Councilwoman Jean Ann Hilbert, who served with Drury for many years on council and also had known her since their high school days, said, “It was a pleasure and honor to serve with and know Donna. Her love for the community is unmatched. She deeply cared about those in need and the less fortunate.”
A celebration of Drury’s life will be held at Groveport United Methodist Church, 512 Main St., at 2 p.m. on Jan. 13. In lieu of flowers, people may make donations in Drury’s memory to Groveport Madison Human Needs at www.center4gmhn.org.
