Members of Madison County’s Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Chapter 93 will accept donations to benefit veterans during Forget Me Not Days, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Aug. 10-11 at Speedway, 102 W. High St., London, and Walmart, 375 Lafayette St., London.

On July 24, the Madison County commissioners proclaimed Aug. 10-11 as Forget Me Not Days and London Mayor Patrick Closser declared August as Forget Me Not Month.

On hand for the proclamations were: (from left) Rob Slane, county administrator; Mark Forrest, county commissioner; London Mayor Pat Closser; Kenneth Reed, DAV Chapter 93 member and DAV Department of Ohio Officer of the Day; Terry Mackey, DAV Chapter 93 commander; and county commissioners David Dhume and David Hunter.

The DAV offers a free service to disabled veterans and their families in filing claims for government benefits and assists veterans with job, hospital, employment and other issues.
