Flowers for fire safety

Hundreds of local residents and those who live in neighboring communities came out to purchase beautiful flowers and plants during Jackson Township Fire Department’s annual flower and plant sale. Taking place from May 8–12, the popular fundraiser allows its union, Local 2672, to host a variety of events throughout the year that teach children fire safety lessons and also provide outreach services to the community. Pictured here with a few of the beautiful hanging baskets up for sale at the fundraising event on May 10 are (from left to right) firefighters Chris Carper, Dustin McCoy, Chad Layton, Peyton Strader and honorary firefighter and ambassador Colton Showalter.
