John Maxson, a member of the “flower crew” at the Southwest Franklin County Historical Society, tends to the slightly overgrown south bed at the Grant-Sawyer Home on June 17. The volunteer said the crew typically comes out to garden in the spring but were unable to do so until this week due to public health restrictions.
Steve Jackson, president of the SWFCHS, tries not to get whacked in the face by the spike plant as he adds begonias to the large pot. These arrangements can be found near the Relieffe-Grant Barn, directly behind the Grant-Sawyer Home on Haughn Road.
