July is Parks and Recreation Month and it’s time to head outside, get involved in activities in the community and have fun. Having a safe and enjoyable place to play is an important part of staying active and healthy.

Aside from the various organized activities, parks are a great space to gather with family and friends to camp, fish or toss a baseball. Interacting with nature benefits both children and adults. Parks are created to give our residents a place to appreciate nature, exercise, socialize and have fun. The month of July is a great time to enjoy Grove City’s nature areas.

Register your family for the second annual Grove City Family Camp Out. Enjoy an evening of fun followed by a night under the stars at Fryer Park connecting with nature and with other Grove City families from 6 p.m., Friday, July 10 through 10 a.m., Saturday, July 11; families are free to come and go as needed.

Enjoy outdoor games and activities then spend the night in your tent (participants provide their own). Registration is required before Tuesday, July 7 with a $35 fee per family that covers dinner, activities, campfire snacks and breakfast. One family member must be aged 21 or older. Your family will be a short walk away from Family Fishing Day, so bring your gear.

Call the Grove City Parks and Recreation Department at 277-3050 or visit the Grove City Parks and Recreation online registration page to register at www.grovecityohio.gov.
