Firefighters Adam Waddell (front) and Preston Heibel were among the 150 plus volunteers that make the annual Prairie Township Firefighters Association Fish Fry happen. This was the 73rd year for the event that took place June 23-24 just behind the township fire house. Prairie Township Fire Capt. Tim Hannum said that they fried 2,500 pounds of perch and had thousands of visitors. The event also featured a car show, live music, and fire safety events for children. Proceeds from the fish fry allow the fire department to purchase needed items for the firefighters. Some of the funds are donated to help provide clothing for kids.
