According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, a fatal car accident occurred on Old Hamilton Road, just north of Elmont Place, in Groveport, on April 7.
Sheriff Dallas Baldwin stated the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the fatal traffic crash which involved a single vehicle. According to the sheriff, at approximately 12:45 p.m., a 2001 Mercedes SUV was traveling northbound on Old Hamilton Road, went off of the road to the right, and struck a tree. The operator and sole occupant was transported to Mount Carmel East Hospital by Madison Township Medic 181 and was later pronounced deceased by the attending physician.
The sheriff said the deceased was not wearing a seat belt and was identified as Amanda N. Burroughs, 19, of Canal Winchester.
The sheriff said the incident remains under investigation.
