What’s your favorite artistic depiction of London or Madison County? Cast your vote at the “London All Seasons” exhibit on display at Gallery On High, 5 E. High St., London.
For the exhibit, the London Visual Arts Guild put a call out for submissions of photos, artwork, essays and poems featuring local subject matter. The public responded, and the result is a display of over 40 pieces, ranging from paintings of street scenes to photos of West Jefferson’s new covered bridge.
“The exhibit will stir up a lot of memories, and there will be places (depicted) people might recognize,” said Sandy Fox, Arts Guild president.
Gallery visitors are invited to cast their votes for the pieces they like best. People’s Choice awards will go to the top vote getters in three categories: mixed media, photography, and poems and essays.
An opening reception is set for 5 to 8 p.m. Feb. 6. Refreshments will be served, and many of the artists and writers will be on hand. The public is invited to attend.
The exhibit will remain on display at the gallery through March 1 after which several of the submissions will move to the Madison County Chamber of Commerce for display through the end of March.
Gallery On High’s hours are: Tuesday, 4-8 p.m.; Thursday, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.; Friday, 5-8 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.; Sunday, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. For a list of other shows, go to www.londonvisualartsguild.org.
