| The hot, humid days of summer make swimming pools popular places to beat the heat. In 1961, the Groveport Madison Recreation Club swimming pool opened on Hendron Road in Groveport. Pictured here (in a photo taken from atop the high dive) are swimmers who waded into the pool as it was being filled with water on opening day in 1961. The large Groveport Madison Recreation Club pool served the community until the new Groveport Aquatic Center opened in Groveport Park in 2003. |
