The London Rotary Club is pleased to honor senior Evan Fisher as Madison-Plains High School’s October Student of the Month.

Students of the month are selected by school administrators based on their academic and extracurricular achievement and positive character.

Fisher has a 4.1 grade point average, and his favorite course is band. He is a four-year member of Madison-Plains’ Ohio Music Educators Association superior-rated marching band and concert band. He has been involved in Key Club for two years and has been a member of the track team for four years. He is also a three-year member of National Honor Society.

When asked to name a school staff member who inspires him, Fisher replied, “Mr. (Andrew) Lawrence, my band teacher for the last six years. He has helped me grow as a person and has demonstrated great patience.”

About Fisher, Lawrence said, “As a band teacher, I get the privilege of having the same students for several years. Having started Evan on his instrument in sixth grade, I have seen his growth as a student and as a person, and I am very proud of what he has accomplished. He works hard in my classes, loves music, and brings great energy and leadership to everything he does.”

After graduation, Fisher plans to attend Ohio Northern University and major in mechanical engineering. He is the son of Todd and Joann Fisher.

The London Rotary Club has a proud history dating back to 1929. It is a member of Rotary International, a volunteer organization of 1.2 million business and professional leaders united worldwide to provide humanitarian service and help build good will and peace.
