Canaan Middle School’s courtyard features new amenities, thanks to Cameron Skidmore, 18, a senior at Jonathan Alder High School.

This fall, the Eagle Scout from Boy Scout Troop 90 built and installed tables, benches and rose boxes in the courtyard. He talked about the project in a presentation at the Jonathan Alder school board meeting at Canaan on Dec. 10.

When asked to name the biggest challenge of the project, he said, “Trying to get all of the different people together.” This included coordination of volunteers, most of whom were fellow students and Scouts.

Following graduation, Skidmore plans to study computer engineering. He recently received an acceptance letter to Wright State University.
