American Dairy Queen Corp. plans to bring a DQ Grill & Chill restaurant to London. Set to open in March, the restaurant will be located at 365 Lafayette St.

The location is locally owned and operated by restaurateur Keith Chambers and London residents Chad Wheeler and Brian Wheeler. The trio has 120 years of combined experience as operators in the restaurant industry.

More than $1.3 million is being invested in the London store, which will bring more than 40 full- and part-time job opportunities to the area.

The London DQ Grill & Chill will offer signature DQ soft-served favorites, along with made-to-order lunch and dinner options. In addition to indoor seating, the restaurant will feature a covered outdoor patio.

“The DQ brand is constantly creating new opportunities for its local communities with job creation and next-level customer service,” Chambers said. “I was drawn to the brand’s motto, ‘Because happy tastes good,’ and strive to create an environment for community members to interact and enjoy DQ favorites.”

Chambers has been with the Dairy Queen brand for over four years, along with the Wheelers opening seven locations in central and southern Ohio.

Established eight decades ago, the Dairy Queen system has more than 7,000 locations worldwide.

The London DQ Grill & Chill will have indoor and outdoor seating.
