Kenneth Reed (left), Dave Beekman (right) and other members of Disabled American Veterans Chapter 93 will collect donations from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 11-13 outside Walmart in London and from 9 a.m. to about 8 p.m. Aug. 18-20 at Ben & Joy’s Restaurant and Sterling Pharmacy in Mount Sterling. DAV offers free services to disabled veterans and their families in filing claims for government benefits, as well as resolution of problems regarding employment, health care and counseling. DAV also strives to respond to emergency needs arising in the family of any disabled veteran. Reed is officer of the day with the Ohio Department of DAV and first vice commander of Chapter 93. Beekman is commander of Chapter 93. The Madison County commissioners also proclaimed August as National Forget-Me-Not Month.
