It was a two-fold battle on Aug. 28 as the boys varsity football teams at Grove City and Central Crossing High School clashed on the gridiron for their season opener. The first battle was on the defensive front as each team bottled up the opposing offenses throughout the four quarters and the second was a fight against the elements as inclement weather halted the game for more than an hour. The outcome, however, was in favor of the Greyhounds, who won by a score of 7-6. Grove City running back Christian Isaacs scored the game’s only offensive touchdown in the fourth quarter while Central Crossing cornerback Brodie Musto scored a pick-six in the second. Overall, the Comets are leading the crosstown rivalry 3-2. Shown here are a few pictures captured in the first half of the game.
