Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Chapter 93 presented London resident Icle Davis with a plaque honoring him as a life member. Davis has belonged to the organization for 50 years. He spent three years as commander and 18 years as financial officer of the organization. He was an integral part of the chapter’s Forget-Me-Not fundraiser for many years.

Davis also has been involved with local American Legion, AMVETS, and Veterans of Foreign Wars chapters and served as president of Madison County’s United Veterans Organization.

Davis served in the Army during the Korean War, where he hurt his back and returned home. He said the DAV was very helpful, and he has always been active in the organization.

In addition to his work with veterans groups, Davis has given back to the community in many ways. He taught at Madison-Plains Local Schools and Tolles Career and Technical Center and has been a member of Rotary and the Madison County Historical Society.
