This morning, the village of West Jefferson donated the proceeds from its Snowflake Dance, held Dec. 9 at the West Jefferson Community Center, to West Jefferson Adopt-A-Family. Adopt-A-Family will put the $1,195 donation toward making Christmas brighter for local families in need.

Several village employees and the Adopt-A-Family coordinator were on hand for the presentation: (front row, from left) Rebecca Arnott, finance director; Amanda Adkins, recreation and special events assistant; Mayor Ray Martin; Dee Jones with Adopt-A-Famly; John Mitchell, public service director; (back row) Santa; and Shelton Stanley, recreation and special events manager.
