The Daily Bread Eatery strives to serve up locally sourced, farm fresh, and organically produced artisan eats.
The new food truck, located at 121 E. High St., London, offers burgers, grilled chicken sandwiches, steak paninis, chicken paninis, and a variety of salads and side dishes. Hours are 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Monday-Friday.
The Daily Bread Eatery is a group venture by Kate Crager-Tobin and her family. The vegetables in the salads and on the sandwiches are grown on farmland that Kate, her husband, Clarke, and their children share with Kate’s parents, Doug and Laura Crager, on Spring Valley Road in London. Eventually, they hope to raise their own cattle and chickens, too.
“We are holistically driven in how we eat and take care of ourselves. With my passion as a foodie and with the farm, we decided to expand on that and bring it as a resource for people for clean eating here in London,” Kate said about the decision to start a food truck.
The truck’s official first day was July 10. The Madison County Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting on Aug. 25.
“It has been well received. We get compliments on the quality and freshness of our food,” Kate said. “It’s fun to share something you are passionate about and have people appreciate it.”
In addition to the food truck, Kate operates Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices/Crager Tobin Real Estate. The food truck is located on the same property as the real estate office.
