CW soccer team heads to nationals

Five members from the U-10 Boys Canal Winchester Pride Soccer Club won the local Dick’s Sporting Goods 3-on-3 soccer tournament held in mid-July competing against teams from Hilliard, Dublin, Westerville, Pickerington, and Sydney, Ohio. The win enabled the team to advance to the regional tournament held this past Aug. 4-5 in Buffalo, NY. where they battled out a seven game schedule in two days. The tournament was capped off with a 1-0 championship game win over an undefeated team from Lancaster, Pa. The combined record for the Canal Winchester team in these two tournaments stands at 11-2. The team will travel to Orlando, Fla. in January to represent Canal Winchester and the Pride Soccer Club in the National Tournament against 45 different teams in their age bracket from around the United States.
