Zoey, a border collie owned by Joel Bright, leaps through a hoop while completing the obstacle course at the sixth annual Canal Winchester Lions Club’s Paws in the Park event held in Stradley Park in downtown Canal Winchester on Aug. 24. At the event people and their pets played games and the dogs showed what tricks they could perform. Proceeds from the event went to Pilot Dogs, an organization that trains and provides guide dogs for the blind. Kendra Gilger of the CW Lions Club said the Lions donated 2,000 eyeglasses last year to the Ohio State School of Opthalmology. The students there check and refurbish the glasses and send them to third world countries where people have little to no access to eye care.
