Groveport Village Administrator Jon Crusey is one of four finalists to become Westerville’s city manager.
In a telephone interview Sept. 5, Groveport Mayor Lance Westcamp confirmed Crusey is under consideration for the Westerville job.
"If anyone gets a better opportunity, I wish them well," said Westcamp, who emphasized that, while Crusey is a candidate in the interview process for the Westerville position, he has not left Groveport yet.
"Jon continues to do his job in Groveport and, if he doesn’t get the Westerville job, he will continue to do his job in Groveport," said Westcamp. "He (Crusey) is a big asset to the village and he has done a wonderful job of representing Groveport."
When asked what steps he would take if Crusey is selected for and accepts the Westerville job, Westcamp stated, "We’ll cross that bridge when we come to it."
Crusey could not be reached for comment.
Crusey began work as Groveport’s village administrator on April 11, 2005 when he replaced Tony Bales. Crusey holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Bowling Green and a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Dayton. Prior to coming to Groveport he was the assistant city manager for the city of Sidney, Ohio.
