The Groveport Madison Cruisers defeated the Hamilton Township Rangers 56-0 in the third annual Obetz Bowl varsity football game held Sept. 5 at Fortress Obetz. The Cruisers returned the opening kick off for a 74 yard touchdown by John Motton. They scored their second touchdown on the first play from scrimmage with an 84 yard pass from Colin Rice to Jalil Underdown. The Cruisers claimed the Fortress Obetz shield for the second year in a row, and started their season with a 2-0 record. Pictured here is Cruiser junior Jashaun McGraw, who rushed for 108 yards on 13 carries and 3 touchdowns in the game.
Cruiser Jalil Underdown races into the end zone on a 23 yard run for his second touchdown of the game. Underdown rushed for 67 yards on 7 carries and caught the only Groveport pass of the game for 84 more yards on the way to a 56-0 win over the Rangers.
While the football team was getting it done on the field, the Cruiser cheerleaders took to the stands to join their fans in cheering them on to a 56-0 victory over the Rangers.
For the second year in a row the Groveport Madison Cruisers claimed the rights to the Fortress Obetz Shield presented after the third annual Obetz Bowl. Groveport City Councilman Chad Grashel holds the victory shield as Groveport Mayor Lance Westcamp stands nearby with Cruiser Coach Bryan Schoonover and the Cruiser team.
