
The Groveport Madison High School Competition Cheerleading Team won the Ohio Capital Conference Buckeye Division varsity championship this season. “The strength of our squad is the girls’ perseverance through many set backs,” said Head Coach Krena Kouns-Hubner.” She praised the team for working hard as well as the work of the assistant coaches. “Lexi and Logan bring a fresh perspective to our team like a calm before a storm for all of us,” she said. “Roni adds love and nurturing to us all as well. We have found who we surround ourselves with brings us the biggest benefits from tumbling to practice to choreography. It all plays a huge role in the grand scheme of things.” She said the support from families, the athletics department, school, school board, and community were positive factors. “Nothing pushes you harder than knowing you have so much support and love from everyone,” she said. The squad’s coaches are: Krena Kouns-Hubner, Lexi Lindic, Roni Leport, and Logan Hubner. Team members are: Braylan James, Rayanna Thierry, Saniya Buck, Jada Hubbard, Modesty Cunningham, Olivia Williams, Dalajia Lindsey, Anazha Bell, My’Ana Yancey, Tiera Jones, Nylaya Miller, and Mi’Angel Cochran.
