County’s first-ever peewee barrel races planned

Madison County’s first-ever peewee barrel races will take place on July 9 during the rodeo at the Madison County Fair.

Children ages 8 and younger are invited to compete. Participants will run a pattern around barrels. The fastest times win. Lead line is permitted. Entrants must bring their own horses.

The fair rodeo starts at 7 p.m. The peewee barrel race will follow the rodeo’s first run of bulls and first adult barrel races.

The cost to enter the peewee races is $10. Entries will be taken on July 1 between 7 and 10 p.m. only. Entries must be made during those times by calling or texting Paul Melampy at (513) 222-3781.

All entrants receive a t-shirt and prizes. Additionally, special sponsored prizes go to the top five finishers.
