The annual 5K-9 Rescue Dog Walk/Run will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 4 at Breck Park in Grove City.
Those interested will sign up for a specific walk/run time to adhere to social distancing guidelines.
All walkers will be required to walk in safe trusted groups (family/close trusted friends) and must maintain a 20 foot distance between walking groups without a mask. All participants will be required to wear masks closer than 20 feet and at all stops. The event will have volunteers on the course to help and remind all participants of safe distancing.
The event is free, but gift card donations are encouraged. In addition, Speak for the Unspoken has a wish list where participants will be able to purchase and send items from the wish list and provide proof of purchase as their entry fee. The wish list can be found at www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/2OJNEA917G6YD?ref_=wl_share.
Upon completion of the 5K-9, those competing for time will submit APP (Map my run, etc) proof of time in order to be considered for placement. All participants completing the course will receive a completion award at the end of the event.
In 2019 over 500 walkers and 250 dogs participated raising over $14,700 in value (gift cards, food donations, and toys).
